QUICK NUT BREAD

 
   

 

INGREDIENTS

4 cups flour                  1/4cup sugar

4 tablespoons shortening      1 egg

6 teaspoons baking powder     2 cups milk

1/2cup raisins

1 teaspoon salt               1 cup chopped nuts

RECIPE

Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening, add well-beaten egg to milk and combine the mixtures.

The dough should be soft like biscuit dough. Add

raisins and nuts sprinkled with flour. Put in well-greased loaf pan and let rise fifteen minutes. Bake at 325 degrees about one hour.
