Melted Basket cheese with chive
The cheese that in the
States is called basket
cheese is similar to
many Italian cheeses you
find all over the
country, that are
practically the same but
have a lot of different
names like canestrello
marzolino and so on,
depending from the
different regions.
So I prepared the basket cheese like with this fresh cheeses back in Italy. It is rapid and very tasty.
What you need is some oil the basket cheese and chives, fresh or dry.
Oil the pan than melt the cheese cut in slices at medium heat with chives on top. To make it melt faster cover the pan with a lid. Ready in five minutes and delicious. Adjust with salt only at the end, as the cheese might be already salty enough.
A delicious appetizer.
